Pages Tab

All websites are made from a collection of pages, and the pages tab is where they get made, edited, added to the menu, or deleted.

The Pages tab is where you work with your web pages.

A, Click the pages tab to bring up this screen.

• View All Pages This is the view on screen, shows all the pages so you can double click on one to edit it.
• Create new page This creates a new page, You need to give the page a name and select add to menu to get it listed on the menu, see NEW PAGE section below.
• Menu Manager This allows you to reorganise the menu order.

C, Simply double click a page to open it in the editor, see below for the editor instructions.

New Page and edited page header

Each page MUST have a page title, you should also click the Page Options and fill in the boxes.

• Page Visibility, Normal means it can be seen on the website, Private means only Admin can see it.
• Page Parent, Normally No Parent is the right setting, but if you have lots of pages then organising a structure may be helpful.
• Page Template, normally Default Template.
• Add this page to menu, if you want it on the menu then tick this box and give it a menu title, you can position it in menu manager later
• Tags / Keywords and Meta Description, these are not visible to readers but search engines can see and index them (like # tags in YouTube

Web Page editor

Most of the menu items are self explanatory, and best discovered by playing with them, Left to right are Bold, Italic, Underline, numbered / unnumbered list, 4 text format options, Then it gets interesting:-

LINK / unlink is the link to a web page e.g. your Facebook or YouTube page, highlight the text you want to carry the link, Click the link button and you get options you can link to a page on your site, or a URL outside your site. normally you will be linking to another site e.g. facebook or YouTube etc. in that case you should also select TARGET and select New Window this leaves your website open and opens the link normally in a new tab.

Image See the Files help page for uploading pictures to your website, once uploaded you can use the browse option to find and link them. It will help you a lot if you make sure your file names are easy to understand, more on that on the files help page. You can also edit how a picture is displayed by right clicking it and selecting image properties.

Next one is remove formatting, that is self explanatory it removes formatting.

Last one is the most interesting, rather than seeing the formatted page view it allows you to enter raw HTML code, this is a powerful tool but will require some knowledge of HTML snippets of HTML can be found with Google or by asking others who run websites.

Finally when you have the page looking like you want it click save updates.
